Hassan Shaw – Project Engineer, Almasi Companies
Before I started working at Almasi Companies, I worked for another sitework and underground utilities firm. I was placed into the role of engineering. Prior to that, I was a Sergeant in the National Guard and specialized in water purification, chemicals, pipelines, and logistics to transport water. In addition, I was responsible for teaching new soldiers about elevations and water pressure and how to route the waterlines. I have a Degree from Montclair State University in Chemistry.

What is your favorite part about your job?
I like that it’s a mid-sized, family-oriented company. Previously, I worked for a large company and felt my needs weren’t being met and often felt ignored and “like another number.” I like the vibe of a smaller company because people are receptive to your ideas and goals.
What is the best piece of advice you have received?
A coworker at Almasi said to me “always be curious and help out.”
Fun Fact: what would people be surprised to learn about you?
I am really into graphic design, video production and gaming. I dabble in photoshop, and graphic design & 3D design in my spare time. I am currently working on building a video game.
